Messi increased his tally of goals to 5 in 3 matches since joining Inter Miami from French club Paris Saint-Germain, scoring two goals against Orlando City after 7 minutes from the start of the match and in the second half.
Inter Miami achieved its third consecutive victory in the cup competition, after a streak of 11 consecutive matches without a win in the league.
Inter Miami will face FC Dallas in the next round next Sunday as part of the championship competitions.
